Group Exercise Classes

Does a solo routine seem intimidating? Are you looking to find a new way to meet your fitness goals? Try group exercise classes. Group classes are free to currently enrolled Purdue Fort Wayne and IU Fort Wayne students and current fitness center members. All classes are first come, first served, with a limited capacity based on activity and space.

Class Schedule for Spring 2023

January 9 - February 16

Monday

6:30 - 7:15 pm: Yoga/PilatesFitness Studio

  • Time to tone! This flow-based class will have you working up a sweat while toning and strengthening your muscles through bodyweight exercises. Connect your mind and body through core work, arms, and legs to build endurance mindfully. You’ll leave feeling that yoga glow of hard work and relaxation!

6:15 - 7:00 pm: Aqua ClassTurnstone, 3320 N. Clinton

  • Let the pool party begin. Turnstone has the most beautiful warm water infinity edge pool, great locker rooms, and a guard on duty for our entire class. Learn how water resistance can help build strength, burn calories and protect the joints all while turning up the tunes and dancing away. No need to swim or even like the water. It will become one of your favorites!

Tuesday

5:15 - 6:00 pm: Toning and IntervalsFitness Studio

  • Use this class to get a total body workout with intervals, toning, cardio, and more!

6:00 - 6:45 pm: Moves 101Fitness Studio

  • The most beginning fitness class we offer with an easy-to-follow fun program. No matter how much you get out of breath this class will give you a starting point for your health. 

Wednesday

12:00 - 1:00 pm: Employee YogaFitness Studio

  • Finding balance, strength, and purpose in this mat-based class gives you a wonderful feeling and sense of success. Connecting mind and body this yoga class is for all fitness levels.

5:15 - 6:00 pm: Fusion FitFitness Studio

  • Take this class to focus on core strength, a healthy back, and improving overall flexibility. This challenging endurance class fuses strength and Pilates by utilizing bands and weights. 

Thursday

5:15 - 6:00 pm: YogaFitness Studio

  • The beginner class series introduces the history of yoga, fundamental principles of alignment, and breathwork. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal descriptions and demonstrations. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. If you have never tried yoga this series is perfect for you and is designed to meet the needs of those new to yoga as well as those seeking a continued understanding of basic yoga poses.

    Various Dates

    4:00 - 5:00 pm: Mastodon Strong CrossFit, Fitness Center Weight Room

    • Our CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements. Considering life’s core movements, CrossFit develops fitness, strength, and skill through constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Emphasis is on building strength, increasing mobility and flexibility, and learning proper safety techniques while working out with Officer Dave Herbst, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Each day is different and all fitness levels are welcome.
    • January: 11th, 12th, 17th, 20th, 25th, 26th, 30th, and 31st.
    • February: 3rd, 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, and 28th.
