Quick Guide
The following tips will help you make the most out of myBLUEprint.
myBLUEprint vs. Transcript
The myBLUEprint worksheet is a tool to assist with planning and tracking progress toward graduation. The Purdue transcript is your official university record.
Reviewing Your myBLUEprint
We recommend you review at least four times a semester:
- Before meeting with an advisor, noting any questions or concerns
- After registration, to ensure courses apply to requirements as expected
- After grades are posted
- Anytime a change is made to classes scheduled, major, minor, or concentration
Incorrect Worksheet
If you believe your worksheet is incorrect, consult your advisor. While we have worked closely with all departments across campus, every unique situation is impossible to anticipate.
Will advisors be able to see my plans?
Yes. Advisors can see your plan and participate in the planning process. There is a Notes section within the plan that allows advisors to communicate additional information.
Planned Courses
Planned courses are not guaranteed to be held during your planned semester. The Plans tool is for planning purposes only. Final course schedules are available online shortly before registration. If you discover that a planned course is not being offered in a given semester, the plan should be adjusted with the assistance of an advisor.
Multiple Plans
You can make multiple plans, but should mark only one as active. We will collect information in the planners to assist departments in planning future offerings to help meet your goal toward graduation.
Worksheet
A worksheet is a review of past, current, and planned coursework that provides information about completed and requirements necessary to fulfill a program.
What If
The What If feature allows you to hypothetically change your major, minor or concentration. The What If worksheet shows courses required for the hypothetical major, minor, or concentration; courses already taken that satisfy requirements; and courses still needed to complete the program. The following data elements should be populated when requesting a What If worksheet to ensure that the most accurate data is retrieved: catalog term, program, major, concentration (if applicable), and minor (if desired).
Term Calculator
The Term Calculator shows a cumulative GPA after filling in hypothetical grade information. You can enter anticipated grades for in-progress courses. myBLUEprint utilizes earned credits and current GPA, combined with in-progress grades projected, to estimate a new GPA based on the data entered.
Graduation Calculator
The Graduation Calculator allows you to enter the GPA that you would like to have at graduation. The Graduation Calculator shows what GPA you must average over the remaining semesters in order to obtain the desired GPA at graduation.
Advice Calculator
The Advice Calculator shows you how many credits must be earned at a certain GPA to achieve the desired GPA.
Two-Degree Programs
Look at the degree information next to your name at the of the screen. You’ll notice that the degree box has a drop-down arrow. Use this to select your second degree. If a second degree does not appear in the drop down menu, contact the academic advisor for your second degree.
@ Symbol
The @ symbol is a wildcard. If the @ sign appears with a course number after it (e.g., @ 30000:49999), you can take any course number in that range in any subject. If it appears after the subject (e.g., PSY @), you can take any psychology course.
Plans Tool
The Plans Tool allows you and advisors to plan courses semester by semester, considering when each class should be taken sequentially. You should develop a plan with your advisor. The State of Indiana encourages you to complete your baccalaureate degree in four years by taking 15 credits each semester. For more information, please visit Learn More Indiana.
