What will my diploma say?
Your diploma will list the University, your legal name as reflected on your Purdue Fort Wayne academic record (unless otherwise requested), the college or school you are graduating from, and the degree name. Your major, minor, and concentration area will be reflected on your transcript, but not listed on your diploma. If you receive honors distinction, this will be noted on both your diploma and transcript.
Can I change the way my name will appear on my diploma?
Each term students appearing on the graduation list will be given the opportunity to request a diploma name change before diplomas are ordered.
When will I receive my diploma?
Diplomas will be mailed six to eight weeks after the semester ends. Diplomas are mailed to the address you provide in your graduation application. Incorrect addresses and late address changes could cause a delay in the receipt of the diploma.
Can you mail the original diploma from a prior semester to me?
If you are requesting your original diploma for a degree conferred Fall 2020 or prior, and want your diploma mailed to you, complete the Mail Diploma Request Form [PDF]. Return the signed document to the Office of the Registrar or by mail to Purdue University Fort Wayne, Office of the Registrar, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Diplomas are sent via USPS. Diplomas cannot be mailed to PO boxes.
Unclaimed or undeliverable diplomas are retained in the Registrar’s Office for a period of seven years, after which time they are destroyed. Alumni wishing to replace an unclaimed, undeliverable, or destroyed diploma that is no longer held in the Registrar’s Office must purchase a replacement diploma.
Can someone else pick up my diploma?
To have your diploma released to another authorized person, please fill out the Diploma Release form. The authorized person can bring the completed form to the Enrollment Services Desk in Kettler Hall. The authorized person will be required to show a photo ID and sign for the diploma noting their relationship to you.
HOW MAY I OBTAIN A REPLACEMENT DIPLOMA?
You may request a replacement diploma if your diploma has been lost, stolen, or damaged. You may also request a replacement diploma if you have had a legal change of name. Complete the Change of Name Form and mail it to the University. The new name will be applied to both your replacement diploma and to your official university record.
