Brightspace Learning Management
Brightspace Learning Environment, used at Purdue Fort Wayne, is an innovative learning management system for creating, hosting, and editing online learning resources. Many third-party tools (e.g., Pearson, GoReact) are integrated into Brightspace to support student learning. Many resources are available online for student use while on and off campus.
- go.PFW.edu-Portal
- Purdue Fort Wayne Portal for accessing several resources such as: Banner for Grade, eMail, and local network drives. Access can be gained by going to go.pfw.edu.
- Purdue Mobile App
- The Purdue Fort Wayne mobile app (available for both Android and iOS devices) does just that, making it easy to access your class schedule, grades, student account, and more. Download the mobile app today for free and see everything it can do for you. Learn More about the Purdue Mobile App.
- Office365 Online
- Microsoft O365 includes many applications that can be used online through a web browser such as eMail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams or OneDrive. Access can be gained by going to Office 365.
- WebPrint
- Purdue Fort Wayne students can print to any lab printer from their personal device while on campus. Access can be gained by going to WebPrint.
- ServiceNow
- Resource for submitting tickets to the Helpdesk and finding helpful knowledge-base articles.

Software and Application Resources for Personal Devices
Purdue Fort Wayne Information Technology Services provides the following readily available resources for students to download on their personal devices.
- Office 365
- Microsoft O365 includes many applications that can be used online through a web browser or as installed software on laptops, desktops and mobile devices. A few of the applications included in O365 include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and access to PFW email. These applications can be installed on up to 5 personally owned devices. However; Office products are readily available on university owned devices. Office365 can be accessed by going to go.pfw.edu and logging in with your Purdue Fort Wayne credentials.
- Poll Everywhere
- Poll Everywhere is an online service that allows teachers to ask their students a question. The students answer the question using their mobile phones, Twitter, or web browsers. Instructions for accessing Poll Everywhere can be found in our Poll Everywhere Quick Guide.
- Reference Management: Endnote
- Endnote is a is a reference manager that helps you save time formatting citations, so you can focus on your research. Endnote is Free with the download link in the Knowledge Base article.
- Video Creation and Streaming

- Kaltura is the university supported video creation and steaming tool. It is free for all students. There are different components of Kaltura. There are three major components of Kaltura, including Kaltura MedisSpace, Kaltura Capture, and Kaltura Integration into Brightspace (video explanation). - Kaltura MediaSpace
- Kaltura MediaSpace is the university’s media portal for you to upload, host, and share videos, images, and audios. Media stored in Kaltura MediaSpace can be directed inserted as part of the Assignment, Discussion Topic post, and Quizzes (if HTML editor is enabled).
- Kaltura Video Editor: Videos hosted in Kaltura MediaSpace can be edited by using the Kaltura Video Editor, which allows you to clip or trim media, chop and splice media and add hotspot to media from the Kaltura MediaSpace [Kaltura video editor guide].
- Kaltura Capture
- Kaltura Capture desktop recorder for both Windows and Mac. You can record two camera inputs at once, two screens, or a camera and a screen. Videos created with Kaltura Capture can be automatically uploaded to the university’s Kaltura MediaSpace.
- Kaltura Capture main features:
- Screen, webcam, and audio capture in one click
- Automatic slide detection and creation of searchable chapters
- Kaltura Capture Installation Instructions:
- Login to Kaltura MediaSpace with your university username and password.
- Click the “ADD NEW” button beside your name.
- Choose “Kaltura Capture”, and follow the prompts on the screen to download and install.

- There are two university support web conferencing tools, Zoom and Teams.
- Zoom
- Zoom is a cloud-based web conferencing tool that enables you to communicate with others via virtual video and audio conferencing, webinar and live chats. Other commonly used features include screen sharing, meeting recording, polling, and breakout rooms.

- Open computer Labs
- Great place to get work done on. Each open lab’s hours and capabilities differ, but all are available for you to study, check email, and print. No check-in is needed, just walk in and find an open computer. You can send documents to lab printers with WebPrint and grab them on your way to class. Go to the Open Computer Labs page to learn each lab’s hours and capabilities.
- Virtual Computer Labs

- Mastodon Maker Lab

- The IT Services Esports lab is a space created for competitive gaming on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus. The lab is located in Walb Union, room 221—its high-end gaming hardware is available to students, staff, and faculty as well as esports teams, gaming clubs, and special events. Learn More
