How To Earn Honors
Completing requirements for Honors credits usually takes no extra time toward pursuing your degree, as you can apply them toward your major or minor. To help schedule your time, contact a peer advisor at 260-481-6924.
If you’re interested in the Honors Program but don’t meet requirements, you might be able to take part in the Honors Program as you raise your GPA. If you would like to be considered for this provisional status, please schedule an appointment to meet with the program director.
If you are an incoming freshman, you will need to meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Be part of the top 10 percent of your high school graduating class
- Have a 3.3 high school GPA or higher
- Have a 1200 SAT score (prior to March 2017: 1800 combined SAT score)
- Have a 27 ACT score
- Have an 87 TOEFL (for international students)
If you are a current student, you need a GPA of 3.3 or higher after accumulating 12 credit hours with GPA-related grades to join the Honors Program.
If you are an incoming transfer student, you need to transfer 12 credit hours and have a 3.5 GPA or higher at your previous university.
