Group Ex Classes
- FREE to currently enrolled Purdue Fort Wayne/Indiana Fort Wayne students and Fitness Center members
- Fall 2021 Classes will resume September 7.
- All classes unless otherwise noted meet at the Gates Center Fitness Studio located next to the Customer Service Desk
- Aqua classes meets at Turnstone - 3320 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne
- Classes are on a first come, first serve basis; class size is limited based on class activity and space
- Sign in is required at the start of each class

Mastodon Strong CrossFit Classes - Spring 2022
- FREE for currently enrolled Purdue Fort Wayne/Indiana Fort Wayne Students, Faculty, Staff and Fitness Center members
- In-person classes start January 12. All classes will be held in the Fitness Center Weight-room and begin at 1:00pm.
- Here are the class dates for February: 1, 4, 9, 10, 14, 15, 18, 23, 24, 28.

Group Ex Class Descriptions
Classes are FREE for all currently enrolled students attending classes on campus and Fitness Center members. All classes meet at the Fitness Studio unless specified. Classes are on a first come, first serve basis. Class size is based upon class activity and space. Sign in required at the start of each class.
CrossFit*
Our CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements. Considering life’s core movements, CrossFit develops fitness, strength, and skill through constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.. Emphasis is on building strength, increasing mobility and flexibility, and learning proper safety techniques while working out with Officer Dave Herbst, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Each day is different and all fitness levels are welcome. *Meets in Weight Room, Gates Sports Center.
Total Body Toning
Just as the name implies, Total Body Toning, includes all components of fitness for the entire body. 45 minutes packed with cardio, strength training, core and flexibility work, and you're on your way to improved fitness!
Yoga
Finding balance, strength and purpose in this mat based class gives you a wonderful feeling and sense of success. Connecting mind and body this yoga class is for all fitness levels.
CoreFit
You will walk away feeling more confident and readier to take on daily activities with more energy. Strengthen and tone abs, lower back, and core with functional weight training using weights and/or resistance bands. Core training, balance, and flexibility are all included to create a total well-rounded program. Because of the multi-joint movement patterns, you will feel a real “commotion” in your core!
Pilates
This core mat based class uses the body's own weight as resistance as well as added moves to build strength and long lean muscles. Added exercises with low reps creates a head to tone metabolic boost.
Zumba
This Latin based dance program takes music from all over the world and creating nothing but fun easy to follow shake it off moves.
Circuit
A stimulating aerobic workout that incorporates a variety of different elements to tone and sculpt the body. Beginners and athletes alike will improve muscular strength and endurance while using free weights, resistance bands, exercise balls, and step. Burning calories and having a blast doing it!
Barre
Fun and empowering class set to today's hottest music. Classes begin with a warm up focusing on
postural strength and alignment, followed by a series of upper body exercises using light weights or
tubing. The ballet barre is used to sculpt the lower body, abs and for flexibility training. You use your
own body weight as resistance to build long, lean muscles!
Aqua Zumba*
An integration of the Zumba® formula and philosophy into traditional aqua fitness disciplines. Improve aerobic endurance, muscular resistance, flexibility and joint mobility, with Latin flavor and international zest.
Aqua Fitness*
Let the pool party begin. Turnstone has the most beautiful warm water infinity edge pool with great locker rooms and a guard on duty for our entire class. Learn how water resistance can help build strength, burn calories and protect the joints all while turn up the tunes and dancing away. No need to swim or even like the water. It will become one of your favorites!
