One-man show is epic remix of ‘The Odyssey’
Austin Dean Ashford presented his one-man show, Island Trap, in the Walb Union Classic Ballroom on October 6. Based on The Odyssey, Island Trap is a hip-hop riff about Black Ulysses—an exploration of a young artist of color navigating the turbulent waters of contemporary American culture while searching for his authentic voice. Ashford’s performance was sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
