Foreign students need help in adjusting to campus life
The recent senseless murder of a young Indian graduate student viciously attacked while working out at a gym in Valparaiso has underscored the grave vulnerability of many international students studying abroad.
While this horrific act did not occur on a university campus, it powerfully illustrates the risk to safety that many international students face. As professors and mentors, it is our responsibility to reflect on how we can prevent such violence and better support international students studying far from home.
