Our Mission
Being Well: The Mental Health Readiness Project is a mental health wellness program that provides education, training, awareness, screening, assessment, intervention, and pathways to helping resources for our campus community and support networks, including the greater Fort Wayne community.
- Through education, training and role play, university faculty, staff and students will be better equipped with strategies to promote mental health and support students and co-workers experiencing adversity, distress, and mental health challenges in the classroom and on campus.
- We all play a vital role in promoting mental health and well-being and identifying and responding to emerging mental health crises.
- As faculty and staff, we can (all) take small steps that could make a big difference to support our graduate and undergraduate students—and each other—when needed the most. You do not need to be an expert in order to provide beginning assistance.
- Trainings are designed to help staff and faculty strengthen their ability to recognize signs of emotional distress, discuss concerns, and help others get to appropriate campus resources if/when necessary.
- Students, faculty, and staff today face increasing pressures that can lead to emotional distress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and even thoughts of suicide. As members of this university community we can all take small steps that make a big difference.
