    CRRSA Act (HEERF II) Reporting

The following information is provided to comply with the Department of Education's CRRSAA Act reporting requirements.

Report date: Nov 3, 2021 -Final report, student portion funds are fully expended

An acknowledgement that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSA Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Purdue University signed and returned the Certification and Agreement to the Department of Education on January 16, 2021.

    2. The total amount of funds that the institution will receive or has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

    $10,558,946

    3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSA Act as of the date of submission (i.e., as of the 30-day Report and this information must also be updated no later than 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter (September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30)).

    $2,794,653.00

    4. The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSA Act. 36,196 - unduplicated count of eligible students at Spring Census.

    5853

    5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSA Act.

    1813

    6. The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSA Act.

An application has been maintained for each semester that requires the student to indicate which of the federally approved conditions for funding they meet and the dollar amount of impact they experienced. In accordance with the CRRSA Act, allowable expenses are related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19 and include those incurred for housing, food, course materials, technology costs, health care, child care, and other expenses. The Financial Aid Office is also identifying potentially eligible students based on the student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as a result of their FAFSA. The university selected a tiered funding approach in order to provide more substantial emergency grant amounts to our neediest students with eligible expenses, while preserving our ability to provide emergency grants to students at higher EFC levels who applied for eligible expenses, as well.

    7. Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

“As we approach the end of the semester and year, I hope this email finds you well.

You may have read that the U.S. Congress, in its most recent coronavirus relief legislation, has provided additional funding to help students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To make these Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) dollars available directly to Purdue University Fort Wayne students, we have established a short application that can be completed in just a few minutes.

Purdue Fort Wayne recognizes, as Congress did, that you may have incurred unexpected expenses as a result of COVID-19’s disruption of our campus operations. The application provides an opportunity for you to recover related expenses for such items as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care. Additionally, if you have an outstanding balance on your university account, you may also choose to request that all, or a portion, of it be paid directly from the HEERF funds.
Please see the application for additional details. We will make every effort to assist you in getting reimbursed for expenses, if they are allowable under guidance from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid and if sufficient funds are available.
To be eligible, you must have a 2020-2021 FAFSA on file with Purdue Fort Wayne’s Financial Aid Office or be eligible to file a FAFSA. If you have not filed a FAFSA, more detailed eligibility information is outlined at the beginning of the application. Additionally, this email is being sent to eligible students only. Please do not forward this email or the application link to others. To read more about eligibility and to complete the funding application, please click here.
Should you have any questions about your eligibility, application, processing time, etc., specific contact information is included upon submission of your application. Please read the entire application very carefully and adhere to all guidelines and questions accordingly.“
