Research Interests

Dr. Bergeson’s research is broadly focused on the ecology, behavior, and physiology of wildlife. However, recently Dr. B has been focusing on how human activities have impacted North American bat species, including the  endangered Indiana bat. Current projects include investigating neonicotinoid insecticide exposure in big brown bats, the impact of the invasion of emerald ash borers on Midwestern bats, and thermoregulatory flexibility in endangered Indiana bats (i.e., their ability to use variable amounts of torpor).
