Redman has been teaching and directing theatre since the 1980s in the areas of literature, literary theory, Performance Studies, directing of operas, musicals and straight plays, acting and teaching acting, and teaching voice production and speech. She holds graduate degrees in English, Theatre Directing and Theatre History, Theory and Performance Studies. She hold an undergraduate degree in English and Music (Dual Major) and her instrument is the voice.
