Tuesdays in June: InBody Health Screenings

Center for Healthy Living

Go beyond the scale with the InBody Test, a quick, non-invasive body composition analysis that provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of muscle, fat, and water. These results can help you understand your weight, set goals, measure your strength, and track your overall health progress.

Health coach Lindsay Bloom will offer these private screenings every Tuesday in June.

Please book your 30-minute appointment on her Outlook booking page, then select InBody events, the date, and the time.

InBody Test: A Tool for Your Health.

The InBody Test provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of muscle, fat, and water. The results of this quick, non-invasive body composition analysis can give you a better idea of your overall health. It can also be used as a baseline measurement tool to set realistic wellness goals.

You will receive a printout of your detailed, yet easy-to-understand measurements on the InBody Result Sheet. Health Coach Lindsay Bloom will discuss the results and work with you to develop a plan based upon these results and your goals.

Follow-up appointments are recommended to compare your results from the initial screening and to assess your progress.

InBody screenings can help people at any age or fitness level because they provide a baseline measurement from which you can build your individual health goals. Here are some examples:

  • You don’t know where to begin to create a wellness plan for yourself.
  • You’ve had an injury and haven’t been active.
  • You’ve been too busy or stressed that your health and fitness have suffered.
  • You’ve lost weight and you’ve reached a plateau.
  • Your doctor has recommended you to make changes to manage existing health conditions such as osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, and more.
  • You would like to reduce the risk of disease or health conditions based on family history.
  • You’ve already established a health and wellness routine, but would like to see if there are any areas that may need to be improved to take your fitness and health to the next level.

  • Measure accurate body fat for weight loss. If you are trying to lose or maintain your weight, the key is to make sure you are losing excess body fat, not muscle.
  • Gain and maintain muscle mass. It is important to check your muscle mass as you age especially if you have osteoporosis/osteopenia and do weight bearing exercises build muscle and strengthen bones.
  • Check water retention. Sometimes water retention can indicate a health issue related to lymphedema, kidneys, or heart disease, especially if one limb is retaining more water than the other.
  • Reduce the risk of certain health conditions and disease prevention. Excess body fat, especially visceral fat, has been linked to obesity, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and more.
  • Manage existing health conditions and diseases such as osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and more.
  • Motivate change. Sometimes when we see actual numbers and measurements, they can be the incentive to make changes, no matter how small or large.
  • Monitor and maintain overall health. Make an InBody screening part of your health routine so you can continue to monitor your body composition and make adjustments when necessary. Think of it in the same way as having your blood pressure checked—another tool to give you a clearer picture of your health.
