Grill and Chill with Friends and Family

Our monthly theme for July is Grilling and what better way to celebrate our theme than to have a barbecue with family and friends throughout the month. Another fun way to socialize with family or friends besides a barbecue is to go on a picnic, which is one of the Healthy Boiler Challenges this month.

Whether you are grilling or at a picnic outdoors, be sure to stay safe while having fun. Here are some tips to make the most of your barbecues and picnics.

  • Need some ideas for the grill? Discover the healthy side of grilling. Join the Healthy Boiler Workshop: Grill and Chill for tips on healthy meal ideas for the grill and some kid-friendly options to try as well as grilling and fire safety.
  • Bring your own lunch and picnic with your friends at work by meeting at one of the many spots on campus which offer seating, shade, and beautiful views of nature.
  • Stay safe in the sun and shade by using sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats to protect your skin and eyes from harmful UV rays.
  • Be aware of and follow food safety guidelines when serving food outdoors in the summer heat.
  • Drink water and eat water-rich fruit and vegetables to stay hydrated.
