Asthma Care for Adults: Virtual Lifestyle Education Program

Are allergies affecting your asthma? Have you recently been diagnosed with asthma? The Asthma Care for Adults Program has been designed to help adults and their caregivers learn how to manage asthma.
Developed by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), this virtual program covers asthma basics, recognizing symptoms and triggers, asthma action plans, and an overview of different types of asthma medications.
Registration deadline on the Healthy Boiler portal is March 12. Meeting link will be sent before event.

Lifestyle Education Programs
Lifestyle Education programs focus on creating lifelong habits to improve and maintain your health and well-being. These workshops about heart health, tobacco cessation, diabetes, and more are offered to benefits-eligible employees and their covered spouses as part of the Healthy Boiler Program. - Workshop is open to benefits eligible employees and covered dependents on the Purdue medical plan.
- Class meets March 19–April 18 on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the first two weeks and then on Thursdays for the final three weeks for a total of seven lessons.
- Facilitators: Cheryl Laszynski and Whitney Soto, RN Health Coaches, Center for Healthy Living, Purdue West Lafayette
Open to all benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan with the target population being those:
- Newly diagnosed with asthma.
- Previously diagnosed, but interested in better understanding disease process.
- With family member/dependent who has been diagnosed.
- Interested in better understanding asthma management.
- Benefits-eligible employees and their covered spouses should log in to the Healthy Boiler portal, then scroll to Healthy Boiler Workshops. Registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s home page. Hover over the workshop’s square and hit “Submit” to register.
