Eileen Garwood began her position as Clinical Instructor of Music Therapy at the Purdue School of Music in January 2018; her primary teaching responsibilities encompass a variety of core music therapy courses and music therapy clinical practicum supervision. Dr. Garwood received her Master of Music Therapy and Doctor in Philosophy in Music Therapy degrees from Temple University.
Before arriving at Purdue, Dr. Garwood was assistant professor of music therapy at Western Illinois University. In addition to her teaching, she has extensive experience as a clinical music therapist in private practice and has provided music therapy services in the areas of physical disabilities, mental health, neuro-developmental disabilities, palliative and hospice care and pediatric medicine.
