Community Wellness

Community Wellness

Since our founding, Purdue University Fort Wayne has served as an economic engine and source of pride for the Fort Wayne community and northeast Indiana. Through our strong ties with local families, schools and businesses, we are firmly linked to the success, growth and well-being of our city and the wider region.

Community Wellness is an extension of our wellness programs designed to educate, motivate, and support members of our community outside of the campus, namely Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana. Community members are encouraged to participate in Community Programs such as blood health screenings, wellness fairs, and seasonal flu shot clinics.

Besides offering programs to the community, Wellness has formed various Community Partnerships with local businesses and other organizations such as Fort4Fitness and Fort Wayne Corporate 5K. These partnerships provide another outlet for improving the health and well-being of our city and the wide region of northeast Indiana as well as support local organizations.

The university also has numerous Community Resources which relate to the health, safety, and well-being to community members visiting the campus. These include The Pantry, which helps food-insecure members of the community; the Campus Health Clinic, operated by Lutheran Health Physicians; the Allen County Purdue Extension office; and the University Police.

Wellness is proud to serve the Fort Wayne and regional community which we call home.
