Twenty-first Century Scholars

The Twenty-first Century Scholars Program began in 1990 as Indiana's way of increasing the educational aspirations of low-and moderate-income families. The program aims to ensure that all Indiana families can afford a college education for their children. Indiana's northeast regional office is housed at IPFW with the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. The program recruits income-eligible seventh- and eighth-grade students.

Participating students must comply with a pledge to receive eight semesters of free college tuition. Twenty-first Century Scholars is also a support program for these students from middle school through high school graduation. The program provides a parent network, both student and parent workshops, tutoring opportunities, college visits, and summer camp opportunities.

All inquires regarding the program should be directed to the Twenty-first Century website at www.scholars.in.gov or call toll free at 1-888-528-4719.
