Who do I pay and how much?

Pay Purdue Fort Wayne Tuition Housing, Meals to IPFW Student Account  (Don’t pay abroad)

- Pay host institution tuition housing meals to ISEP Exchange  - Pay nothing to Purdue Fort Wayne


Does my financial aid apply?

 Most financial aid should apply including federal, state, and Purdue Fort Wayne aid  (such as Chancellor’s, COV, 21st cent. )

Federal financial aid (Pell grant, loans, programs from FASFA)  will apply

not Purdue Fort Wayne aid (such as Chancellor’s, 21st cent. )


How competitive is it?

Chance of placement can be lower especially in UK or Australia    

Chance of placement is usually excellent

What classes do I take?

Usually regular classes with host country students in English or the host language or both.           

Either regular classes or specialized programs/themes such as international studies, language, summer options

When do I apply?

February 8 for Fall or Academic Year then rolling

August 25 for Spring then rolling

Summer Exchange not available

February – April for Fall or Academic Year

September – November 1 for Spring

Varies for summer


  • Completed at least two full semesters on a college campus, at least one semester at Purdue Fort Wayne
  • Full time Purdue Fort Wayne student in good academic and social standing
  • Minimum of about 2.75 cumulative GPA, some programs may be higher, some programs may allow lower, especially direct options 
  • Have the personal maturity needed to study abroad

    • Host Site / Course Requests - Work with Office of International Education, academic advisor and Purdue Fort Wayne departments for transfer credit requests
    • Language Proficiency Report (for non English speaking classes)
    • Personal Statement- 1 page 
    • 1-2 recommendation letters from Purdue Fort Wayne faculty or academic advisor
    • Official Transcripts
    • Application fees - 
      • $100 non-refundable application fee to submit app (due about February or September)
      • $325 non-refundable placement fee (once ISEP places the student and the student accepts) (due about March for Fall and Summer or October for Spring)


Priority Deadline:

        Fall and Academic Year: February 8

        Spring : August 27

 Summer: Varies by program- Between February - April 

Students are eligible to apply for programs after the priority deadline based on availability on a rolling basis.
