What you need to do before enrolling at Purdue University Fort Wayne

Step 1: Pay the SEVIS Fee

  • School code: CHI214F10460001
  • To begin the entry process, you must pay the $200 SEVIS fee to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) BEFORE entering the United States to begin your studies.  You can use the SEVIS identification number and PFW's school code given above.  If at all possible, we encourage you to pay the SEVIS fee online.  
    In order to learn more about payment of the SEVIS fee, please click here. Once you have received your I-20, you can apply for a Visa.


Step 2: Obtain a Visa

Documents required at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate at your home country to apply for the F-1 Student Visa:

  1. Valid Passport (for at least 6 months into the future)
  2. Original letter of acceptance/admission from Purdue Fort Wayne
  3. Valid SEVIS I-20 form issued by Purdue Fort Wayne and SEVIS receipt of payment
  4. Original copies of all financial documents (such as bank statement(s))
  5. Proof of ties to your home country (job, ownership of a property, etc.)
  6. Copies of all transcripts
  7. Copies of the TOEFL or IELTS, SAT, ACT, etc.
