Transfer Credit and Articulation

Visit the Student Success and Transitions page and the IPFW Bulletin to view the transfer credits policies.

IPFW is a participating member in the Statewide Transfer and Articulation Committee (STAC) and has established transfer credit opportunities for courses that are “commonly offered” throughout the State of Indiana. These course transfer equivalences are listed at Transfer

Articulation Agreements

IPFW has approved articulation agreements with several universities for articulation of program graduates in numerous areas. These agreements are listed below:

Transfer Single Articulation Pathways (TSAP)

The Indiana Commission for High Education developed the Transfer Single Articulation Pathways (TSAP) so that Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University students could complete a specific set of courses in specified degree areas and be assured that those courses would transfer into a 4 year degree at any Indiana public university. A student with a TSAP associate's degree will enter IPFW at junior class standing status. Successful completion of the Ivy Tech degree does not guarantee admission to an IPFW degree program. To take advantage of this program at IPFW, students must meet established admission criteria for the respective major, some of which are highly competitive because of popularity and limited capacity. The TSAP guarantees only apply pending a final transcript submitted to IPFW with the TSAP notation.

Articulation agreement with Indiana University South Bend (IUSB)

B.S. with a major in Physics program to B.S.E.E. or B.S.M..E.

IUSB students who satisfactorily complete three years of study in physics may transfer credit to IPFW in either electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.Students who complete the engineering program at IPFW may transfer this credit back to IUSB to serve as the remainder of the requirements for graduation from the IUSB physics program.

Consortium Agreements

Indiana University South Bend (IUSB) offers the Master of Science in Education with a major in special education and a concentration in Intense Intervention. IPFW provides some support courses and services for the IUSB program. Additional information is available from the Department of Professional Studies in the College of Education and Public Policy.

Contracts for Programs

IPFW has a contract with Parkview Hospital which provides that students who complete the B.S. with a major in Biology (124 credit program) may seek admission to the Parkview Medical Technology program. Students who complete the Parkview program (32 credits), meet requirements for satisfactory academic performance, and maintain current registration at IPFW may seek departmental credit from the Department of Biology for the courses in the Parkview program. Completion of these credits qualifies the student to be awarded the B.S. with a major in Medical Technology from IPFW.

IPFW’s former contract with the Fort Wayne School of Radiography, and then with Parkview Hospital, to offer the clinical portion of the A.S. in Radiography ended in May, 2010. As of June 2010, the program is offered as a regular university program by IPFW, with Parkview Hospital serving as one of the clinical sites for the program.

Other programs offered at IPFW

Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) offers the Master of Social Work at IPFW. IPFW serves only as a host site for the program. Additional information is available from the Social Work site coordinator in the College of Health and Human Services.
