Welcome to the inaugural website for the Purdue University Fort Wayne Ombudsperson. This is the place where students, faculty and staff and come to work through challenges, misunderstandings and disputes leading to interpersonal conflict at the university in an informal manner.
Instead of filing stressful grievance, the Ombudsperson will work with faculty, staff, students, and others, to provide support services that help you to resolve disputes before they become conflicts or grievances. Purdue University Fort Wayne is committed to providing a positive working and learning environment. The Ombudsperson helps to ensure that your learning/working experience is positive.

Your Ombudsperson is Kenneth Christmon.
With 25+ years of experience in higher education administration, Kenneth Christmon has served in various functions that prepared him for the opportunity assist you through challenges in diverse university settings.
The Ombudsperson operates in a confidential environment!
Concerns and matters are only advanced to others when you agree to the same. If you present matters that are under the mandatory report statues, the Ombudsperson must report such information through the established channels. Your confidence is what drive the success of this impartial university services. The Ombudsperson cannot intervene or interrupt any of the university duly established policies or procedures for grievances, Human Resource functions or administrative process as defined in the Purdue University Policies and Procedures Manual.
For more 15 years, Ken has served in leadership positions at Purdue University Fort Wayne in Undergraduate Admissions, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Diversity & Multicultural Affairs and Executive Leadership. Ken has served as a university spokesperson, presidential advisor, senior administrator, chancellor’s advisor and board liaison at other institutions. Ken has also interacted with such agencies as the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Labor, the New York Stock Exchange, and a host of social service agencies throughout the nation. His depth of experience has manifest successful management and leadership stints in both the public and private sector. Ken is also the current Chairman of the Board for the Fort Wayne Urban League, which provides economic empowerment, educational opportunities and the guarantee of civil rights for the underserved in America.
