Cynthia Springer

Cynthia Springer brings 27 years of strategic human resources and organizational development leadership and executive management experience to her role as Executive Director of Human Resources and Institutional Equity at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne University. 

Cynthia graduated from Aquinas College in 1999, earning her Master’s Degree in the areas of Management & Organizational Development.  Cynthia also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with minors in Communications and Math, and her Associate’s Degree in Legal Studies from Davenport University. In 2006, Cynthia was honored by Davenport University with the 2006–2007 Davenport University Distinguished Alumni Award—in recognition of her meritorious achievement in leadership and accomplishments as a prominent executive.

Previously, Cynthia served as Chief Executive Officer in k-12 education where she launched a performing arts charter academy and served as the Chief Human Resources Officer/Vice President of Organizational Development in higher education.  Throughout the span of 27 years in her professional career, she provided vision, strategy and leadership for the development and implementation of human resources core services as well as the organizational development infrastructure. She has many accomplishments in leading administrative functions such as hiring and recruitment, legal compliance, contract administration, training and organizational development, employee relations/discipline, employment practices, leadership development, succession planning, and is an outstanding employee advocate and communicator.

Cynthia is currently on the Board of Trustees for Mercy Health Hospital and have held numerous professional board appointments; including Board Chair for the City of Grand Rapids' Civil Service Board and on the board for the Michigan American Council of Education (ACE) Network for Women Leaders in Higher Education; as well as held professional membership with the West Michigan Women’s Foundation Advisory Committee, Equal Employment Opportunity Director’s Council, Council on Law in Higher Education, Leadership Grand Rapids, and the International Public Management Associations for Human Resources.
