E-Mail Consultations

E-mail consultations can be requested 24/7 through our online form from any internet-ready device when the Writing Center is in operation. 

The Writing Center's regular hours of operation for the Spring 2019 semester will be Monday, January 14 - Saturday, April 27, 2019:

Mondays - Thursdays: 10 AM - 8 PM
Fridays: 10 AM - 6 PM
Saturdays: 12 PM - 4 PM

The Writing Center closed for the Fall 2018 semester on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The online consultation request form will be reactivated on Monday, January 14.

Please expect online requests submitted after 6:00 pm on Friday to be returned no earlier than the following Tuesday.

Policies and Procedures

  • You may submit a request at any time, but it will be processed by the online coordinator during regular business hours which excludes school breaks and holidays.
  • Your paper will be returned approximately 2-3 business days from the date you submit your completed request, excluding university breaks and school closures.
  • Students may submit only one paper at a time.
  • Please do not overlap submissions to the online consultation service and face-to-face appointments for the same assignment.
  • Submissions should be less than 10 pages long. If your submission is more than 10 pages, please indicate the 10 pages on which you wish us to consult.

How to Request an Online Consultation

  • To request an online consultation, you will need to complete the form found at this link: Online Consultation Request Form
  • Please be sure the assignment you wish to have reviewed is in .doc or .docx format (not .pages, .wpd or .pdf)
  • Please be specific and answer all questions on the form, otherwise your consultation may be delayed while we request additional information.

Our E-mail consultation coordinator will review your submission and make sure we have all the information we need to complete the consultation. If we need to contact you for more information, it will delay the return of your paper.

Within 2-3 business days of your completed submission (not including university breaks or school closures), you will receive a response from This email response will have two attachments: your paper and a summary of the consultation witch can be used as proof of use for required visits. Please note: you cannot see comments on Word documents while using a mobile device. You must open the document on a desktop or laptop computer to see the comments.
