Discover Your Future
Deciding on a career—or major—can be difficult. Our variety of self-exploration tools can help you determine where your interests lie and point you toward a more satisfying path. We offer several career assessments in association with Purdue Fort Wayne’s Office of Testing Services:
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) ($25 for students; $45 for community members)
- Strong Interest Inventory (SII) ($25 for students; $45 for community members)
To take any of these assessments, you will need to schedule a pre-assessment appointment with a career counselor. If you are interested in taking both the MBTI and the SII, you may do so at a cost of $35 for students and $65 for community members.
TypeFocus 7 is a self-paced, online career-guidance tool that can help you assess your interests and explore possible careers. This tool can be accessed by students on go.pfw.edu under the Career Development tab. Community members looking to use this tool should contact us.
After you have taken the assessment, you can meet with a career counselor to discuss the results and plan your path forward. To schedule a meeting you can access your goPFW account > Career Development > Handshake and schedule yourself, email our office at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will contact you within 24 business hours or you can call Career Services at (260)481-0121
