Q: How has your communication degree been beneficial to you and your career?
A: My degrees gave me the skill set to solve business problems using critical thinking. Each class added knowledge that has become paramount to my success.

Q: How did you become interested in the business field?
A: I've always loved business and entrepreneurship. The idea that I could be an employer in Fort Wayne and add jobs to our community, has always been an inspiration for me.

Q: What is the best career advice you have been given?
Never take no for an answer. In business, you will reach many roadblocks and hear a discouraging "no" answer more times than you can count but continue on your path until you reach your goal.

Q: What course(s) have you found to be most valuable in your professional life?
D490 Special Study in International Business gave me the real world experience of handling a professional project for businesses. It was the application of all the topics I studied in my degree path, condensed into a project for 2 real companies.

Q: Was there anyone during your time at IPFW who acted as a mentor to you?
All of my professors gave helpful guidance and advice throughout my time at IPFW. I'm still in contact with many of them and I still feel I'm learning from them every day. That personal connection I developed with them is truly priceless.

Q: What advice would you give to a current IPFW student?
A: Pursue all the options available to you at IPFW. If you can travel in your program, do it. There are so many options for you to be involved on campus but you need to find them.

Q: What would be your advice to someone who is considering IPFW (either as a new student or a returning adult)?
A: Pursue your degree! The education and connections you will make are incredibly valuable and will help you do amazing things.

Q: What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishments, both personally and professionally?
A: Being a part of starting a business in Fort Wayne is my greatest accomplishment.

Q: Where do you hope to be in ten years?
A: I would like to have fulfilled my commitment to Tim Hortons and have 15 locations in Northeast Indiana.
