Tapestry: A Day for You began in 2002 as a way to enrich the lives of women in northeast Indiana and to raise funds for students studying in the College of Health and Human Services at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). Parkview Health shared this vision by joining forces with IPFW as the founding sponsor. Together with the support of additional sponsors and the women of Indiana, IPFW and Parkview have grown the event to encompass a full day of inspiration, renewal, and education for women in all stages of life.

Inspiration– Listen to the stories of the Scholarship recipients and the Linda Ruffolo Dedication Award honoree. Threads of their lives will undoubtedly connect with yours.

Renewal – Spend time with friends and colleagues while enjoying a schedule designed for you, the woman. Concentrate on you for the day and return to your life with renewed energy and passion.
Education – Learn something new or do something fun at the various breakout sessions. Visit over 150 artist and exhibitor booths to see new products and services.

Over the last 15 years, Tapestry has raised more than $825,000 in scholarship funds and awarded scholarships to 66 students.

Parkview Health, the founding sponsor of Tapestry, continues as the main investor of the event because they "understand the importance of inspiring well-being for women of all ages and supporting those women who are dedicating their careers to health and human services,” said Sue Ehinger, chief experience officer at Parkview Health. The event, attended by more than 1,400 people in 2016, gives each attendee the chance to hear from an internationally recognized “Tapestry’s role in this community has made such an important impact on our students at IPFW.” – Kathleen Jackson, Project Manager guest speaker, participate in breakout sessions focused on health and well-being, and make a difference in the life of a student.

This incredible outpouring of support for IPFW’s Health and Human Services students in the form of the Tapestry Parkview Health Sciences Scholarship has opened new doors for their futures, including vital roles in the healthcare industry right here in northeast Indiana. For this reason, Tapestry has become an important source of support not only for our students, but for the vitality and well-being of our community.

Sponsors of Tapestry and gifts for the event secure a better future for our students while also improving the quality of life for our friends, family, and neighbors. It shows year after year the power of investing in student success.
