FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Purdue University Fort Wayne announced today the selection of Kristina Creager, Ph.D., as vice chancellor for student affairs.

“I am thrilled to continue the critical work I came to this campus to do 10 years ago,” says Creager. “The student experience is essential to the success of our students and institution, and we have an excellent team focused on student development, engagement, and support. I am grateful to Chancellor Elsenbaumer, the search team, and an incredible university family for their trust and continued encouragement as we think and act boldly in support of our students.”

Creager formerly served as associate vice chancellor for student success and has served as the interim vice chancellor for student affairs since February.

“I am delighted to welcome Krissy Creager to the university’s leadership team,” says Chancellor Ronald L. Elsenbaumer. “This is a pivotal time for the university, as we continue to focus on student engagement and retention and work diligently to enhance the overall student experience on campus.”

Creager joined the university in 2009 as associate director of student life and has held the positions of director of student life, assistant vice chancellor for student success and transitions, and interim director of financial aid. She served as cochair of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee for the 2018–19 academic year.

Creager has a Ph.D. in global leadership in higher education from the Indiana Institute of Technology, a Master’s Degree in student development administration from Seattle University, and a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Northern Arizona University.

Creager begins her new role July 1, 2019.
