Lieutenant General Rick Lynch (Ret.) offered lessons in leadership to students, faculty, staff, and the public on March 22 thanks to Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Office of the Chancellor and the Leadership Academy.

Lynch is the author of Adapt or Die: Battle-Tested Principles for Leaders, a collection of leadership lessons he took from his 34 years in the United States Army. It teaches readers about adaptive leadership and offers lessons that emphasize how to lead under challenging circumstances.

“A leader cares about their people 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Lynch. “A manager only cares about people when they are at work, but a leader cares all of the time.”

Lynch’s presentation captivated the audience as he drew on his personal experience to communicate a disciplined and effective mantra for success.
