University Archives


The Purdue University Fort Wayne archives collection includes only material related to the history of the IPFW campus, including the original Indiana University and Purdue University Extensions Centers in Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne Art School, and the joint campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). It does not collect material about Indiana University or Purdue University or any of their regional campuses. It does not collect local history information other than material that has been cataloged and appears in the library's online catalog.

The collection includes no personnel files other than biographical information, news releases, honors received, and general information about faculty, staff, administrators and friends of the university who have had a significant role in its history.

Information frequently requested is available to users through the Encyclopedia of Campus History.

Archives maintains a file of sources available for use by contacting Archives. These files include memos, news releases, pamphlets, brochures, official notices, programs for events, newsletters, commencement programs, etc. The files are arranged by subject. None of the files may be taken from the library, although copies can be made in most instances.

Archives has a photo file which is arranged by person, department or event. To access the photo files one should contact Archives. Permission forms, both for use and/or for publication are required.
