History of the IPFW Resource Center

Engagement with the university and its students is a top priority for the IPFW Resource Center.

In keeping with the spirit of participation and education, the Resource Center has hosted many events on campus since its creation to promote a culture of acceptance and awareness, including National Coming Out Day, LGBTQ Social & Movie Nights, lectures and seminars from IPFW professors on issues relevant for students who identify as LGBTQ, and drag shows.

On November 17 and 18 2010, members of the Resource Center constructed a memorial to victims of violence against transgendered people on IPFW's Willis Bridge, which connects student housing to the main campus. This display of support is one of the most memorable contributions by the Resource Center to IPFW's history.

As issues related to human sexuality become increasingly prevalent in American culture, the Resource Center continues to provide critical support for students struggling with their identities.
