
Red Oak
Description
A red oak type with 7 to 11 lobed, bristle-tipped leaves. Sinuses, indentations between lobes, not cut so deeply as with Pin, Shumard, or Scarlet Oaks. The acorn is enclosed in a flat saucer-like cap. A fast growing tree under good conditions, it does not develop a taproot. It will develop chlorosis at high pH.
