Description
Black Cherry bark is distinctive, dark gray-black. On young trees it is smooth and shiny with prominent lenticels or corky ridges. Older trees have scaly plates of bark. The reddish wood is used in making fine furniture. Fruit is red, ripening to red-black, and is important wildlife food.
