The Only Way We’re Going to Get Through This Is Together

Erin Holscher Almazan: Painting and Printmaking

The Only Way We’re Going to Get Through This is Together ties together multiple bodies of paintings and prints that capture the depth of women’s relationships with one’s self and one another. The work began with documented symbolic performances and shared narratives amongst women in art and academia. The work is embedded with memories of girlhood, gendered rituals, the desire for approval, and the evolution of our female identities, and ultimately reveals the gamut of relational capabilities of women, from secrecy to solidarity.
