U Can Crush Hunger Campaign: October 23-November 10
Across campus
The 9th Annual U Can Crush Hunger campaign is underway. The campaign's goal this year is to raise 125,000 pounds of food.
Purdue Fort Wayne has once again joined local colleges and universities in the fight against hunger for this campaign to collect funds and/or nonperishable food items.
This friendly competition will help the Community Harvest Food Bank provide meals to thousands of northeast Indiana families during the holidays, as well as support food pantries on college campuses. Your donations will benefit efforts to fight food insecurity on the PFW campus.
Donation bins are located on the first floor, bookstore hallway in the Walb Union and the Skybridge by the Helmke Library. Last day to donate is Friday, November 10.
Donations Will Be Accepted from October 23 to November 10
- Place nonperishable food items in the donation bins located on the first-floor bookstore hallway in Walb Student Union or in the Skybridge near Helmke Library. These items will help stock The FRIENDS of the University Pantry on our campus which is located in Walb Union, Room G36, and the Student Housing Clubhouse. Learn about The Pantry, hours, and more.
- Make a secure donation online through the Community Harvest Food Bank by selecting Purdue Fort Wayne. Each dollar donated is enough to purchase four pounds of food. Online donations collected through this option will be divided in half between the Pantry and the Community Harvest Food Bank Farm Wagon program.
- Organize a department food drive. WellRec will visit your office to collect items donated during the campaign. Please contact Eric Manor, WellRec director, at [email protected] to schedule a food collection day/time.
- Donate nonperishable food items or provide a monetary donation at the Annual Chancellor’s Chili Fest on Tuesday, October 24 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the International Ballroom at Walb Student Union.
