College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science

Applicants may have technical or non-technical backgrounds with a four-year undergraduate degree required from a recognized institution. Candidates are sought with creative abilities, leadership, interpersonal skills, and personal motivation indicating strong potential to advance in a technology related career. For regular admission, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is required; however, the Graduate Committee evaluates candidates for admission based upon a number of characteristics essential for success in the program including the candidate’s intellectual capacity and individual factors such as motivation, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.


The following documents are required in order to apply to the program:

  • Completing the online application form
  • Three letter of recommendations
  • Official transcripts obtained from all attended universities/schools.
  • A personal Statement of Purpose that outlines the reasons to pursue the graduate degree, choice of school, and professional objectives upon finishing the degree
  • TOEFL score (for international applicants)
  • Financial documentation to support student’s study

International Applicants

International applicants are accepted in accordance with Purdue University’s Graduate School requirements:

  • Undergraduate Cumulative Grade Point Average: 3.0 or equivalent required
  • TOEFL for Non-Native English Speakers:
    • Minimum Paper-Based Test (PBT) Score Required: 550
    • Minimum Internet-Based Test (IBT) Overall Score Required: 77, with the following minimum section requirements:
      • Reading: 19
      • Listening: 14
      • Speaking: 18
      • Writing: 18
  • Test of Written English (TWE) for non-native English speakers.
  • As an alternative to TOEFL, IELTS exam (Academic Module) is accepted with scores of 6.5 or higher, or Pearson Test of English (PTE) (Academic Module), with scores of 58 or higher is accepted, too.
