College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science

Message from the Chair BKim

On behalf of our faculty and staff, welcome to the Computer Science Department at Purdue University Fort Wayne! We warmly encourage you to begin exploring the endless possibilities of a career in Computer Science and the various opportunities for personal and professional development with our department here at PFW.

Our department recognizes the growth of technology and aims to educate and prepare students to be successful in this exciting, high-demand field. As the largest department in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science (ETCS), with nearly 400 students and 12 full-time faculty members, we continue to see an increase in enrollment. In response, we are always looking to expand our program offerings and resources to meet the demands of the regional and national job markets.

We strive to provide ample opportunities for research, community involvement, industry experience, and professional development alongside academic leaders and industry innovators with years of dedicated experience in both traditional and modern high-tech fields. As part of our program, you would earn a nationally recognized Purdue University Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Along the way, you would not only acquire the necessary skills to thrive in a variety of jobs, but you would also gain technical and professional experience in the industry.

It is our commitment to offer a diverse, interactive learning space with up-to-date curricula that keeps pace with current developments in technology. As part of our mission of excellence, we provide access to six dedicated research labs where students can participate in faculty-led research projects and in-depth studies of various computer science subjects, helping our graduates gain real-world experience and preparing them to enter the growing workforce.

We are eager for you to get started on your college journey and hope that you consider joining us as part of one of our CS programs. If you have any questions or would like to request more information, please feel free to contact me or any other CS faculty member.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Mastodon family!

Warm regards,
