VCD Alumni Successes


Let’s Play, a book by recent VCD graduate Rebecca Batdorf, was released June 10, 2014, for sale by Tate Publishing on Amazon. A therapeutic aid, the book was designed to help teach children social play expectations and was a major component of Batdorf’s senior project for her B.F.A. in graphic design.

John Ilang-Ilang (’13, B.F.A. in graphic design) is now art director at Catalyst Marketing.

Haley Albersmeyer (’13, imaging and photography) is currently doing  product photography, video, and web design for Richard J. Bagan, Inc. and their partner MonTech, for whom she is creating a global web site.

Angela Harris is now the graphics/social media manager at J.W. Specialties, Ltd.

Tylar Allison (’12, graphic design) is now a frame fitter at Frame Art and Design located on East Dupont Road in Fort Wayne.

Lucas Carter (’13, imaging and photography) has accepted a new position as the visual media specialist at the national headquarters of the American Legion based in Indianapolis. He will be shooting for their various publications, which include American Legion Magazine, the nation’s largest veterans’ magazine that reaches 2.3 million people monthly. Carter will be performing duties as both a still photographer and a videographer for the magazine.
