Steven T. Sarratore serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Programs at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW).  He has been at IPFW since 1986 and holds an academic appointment as professor of theatre.  His previous administrative assignments have included chair of the theatre department, interim chair of the music department, and interim dean of visual and performing arts. Prior to IPFW, he was on the faculty at Ashland University. He received his MFA in theatre design from Wayne Sate University.

Sarratore has designed scenery and lighting over 150 theatre, dance, and opera productions at various university and professional theatres.  He has also been involved with Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) for many years and served as the National Playwriting Program representative to the KCACTF National Selection Team.

Sarratore’s research and teaching interests include playwriting, theatre history, and scenography.  He has published numerous articles in journals such as Theatre Topics, On-Stage Studies, The New England Theatre Journal and Theatre Insight.
