Jana DeBusk is a Pop, Rock, and Jazz Singer, Recording Artist, World-Wanderer and University Professor. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University where she graduated as Presidential Scholar before moving to New York City. In New York, Jana expanded her musical experience and became a session singer for recording projects and Voiceovers as well as a returning member of "Living For Today", a Broadway cabaret directed by David Alpert. She originated the role of "Scarlet Letter" in Superhero Celebrity Rehab (off-off-broadway) and toured the country with her rock band "Jana and the Bailout Boys". She has recorded two EPs and one Album of original music, and has played some of the best live music venues in NYC including The Bitter End, and The Iridium Jazz Club.

After a particularly strong bout of wanderlust, she sold all her belongings and moved to Colombia where she began singing Latin Jazz. She then wandered over to The Netherlands where she completed her Master of Music in Vocal Jazz. Her research project, "Creating a Communication between Refugee, Expat and Local Women Using Vocal Improvisation" won 1st prize at the Fontys Music and Research Competition. She was also the Professor of American English Pronunciation for Jazz Vocalists at Amsterdam Conservatory and Maastricht Conservatory where she focused on the intricacies of the International Phonetic Alphabet. Her group, "Jah Lous" played International Jazz Festivals and toured all over Europe.

Upon returning to Colombia, Jana continued teaching Private Voice, Solfege, and Musical Theatre at Camo Conservatory and Teatro Fundadores. She also formed Jazz4Women (and all-female jazz group) and was the singer in The Rowings (an all-female rock group). In the past year she has appeared in "Gorgeous: A Tribute to Barbara Harris" (NYC, Greenroom 42) and "Wanderlust: A Love Story" (NYC, Williamsburg Music Center). She is the lyricist for German Pop singer Maya Fadeeva and is a member of GEMA and ASCAP. She is stoked to guide the next generation of vocalists to fly on free, powerful, and healthy singing habits.

"Jana DeBusk is a wildly soulful performer. She's about connecting people. Her ability to bring personal narratives and individual experiences into sharp focus, while simultaneously expressing these details as universally human is such a rare gift. Her passion to experience and live with cultural groups different from her own so that this specific gift might be deepened is inspiring. "
