Music Performance

Bachelor of Music in Performance (B.Mus.)
Vocal or Instrumental

The Bachelor of Music program provides an opportunity for an advanced performer to earn a performance degree in voice, winds, orchestral strings, piano, guitar, or percussion. Instruction is by highly-qualified artist teachers.  Graduates of this program are regularly accepted into prestigious graduate programs and continue to be active performers and private teachers.

Minor in Music (Vocal or Instrumental)

A minor in music is designed for students who wish to explore the field of music while majoring in another area. The student may customize the curriculum to realize their own musical and creative potential. To earn this minor, you must complete the courses listed below and earn a grade of C- or better in each.  Students are required to meet all course prerequisite and proficiency level expectations. 6 resident credits must be earned at the 200 level or above.

Performer's Certificate (Vocal or Instrumental)

The Music Performance Certificate program provides students with additional training and experiences to deepen and enrich their music performance skills as both soloists and members of musical ensembles. It also deepens and enriches the ability to communicate musical ideas through written and oral communication. 18 credits of coursework focus on applied study, ensembles, entrepreneurship training, experience in pedagogy, music theory, music history, and a culminating lecture recital capstone project. Weekly performance class, studio classes, master classes and co-curricular experiences with musical organizations will greatly assist in developing student competency.

Jazz Minor  (Instrumental)

A minor in jazz music is designed for students who wish to explore the field of jazz music while majoring in another area. The student may customize the curriculum to realize their own musical and creative potential. To earn this minor, you must complete the courses listed below and earn a grade of C- or better in each.
