Gender & Justice Institute

Hosted by the Purdue Fort Wayne Women’s Studies Program and facilitated by advanced students in our program, the Gender & Justice Institute (GJI) is a three-day educational workshop open to area high school students who wish to explore and learn more about how gender impacts their lives. Throughout the three days, students will participate in fun and informative discussions and activities focused on gender, privilege, identity, popular culture, feminism, activism, and social justice.

In spring 2019, we debuted GJI-Q, a one-day intensive institute designed around a specific question. The question we explored was: "What Is Gender, Anyway?"

One July 30, 2019, we will host another GJI-Q. It will be a one-day intensive institute on the topic "What is Privilege?"
