Other Information

Dr. Gillespie's primary research efforts investigate the effects of agrichemicals and habitat degradation on the integrity of aquatic communities.  Since 2006, he has worked with USDA/ARS researchers to assess the ecological impacts of agricultural land use on fish and macroinvertebrate communities of headwater streams in agriculturally-dominated watersheds.  His secondary research focuses on the causes of spatiotemporal trends in water quality of the Maumee River Basin.  Dr. Gillespie has managed a large watershed monitoring program since 2008 that has been used to support watershed management plans and to answer research questions.
