Linda Johnston Lolkus, Associate Professor, is currently Interim Chair for the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as serving in her regular position as Director of Nutrition. She joined our faculty in a full-time position in 2001 after teaching at on our campus part-time for many years.

Diversity in the field of food and nutrition has kept her interested and excited in her discipline. She particularly enjoys nutrition and food sciences, food history and culture, and the journey food makes from farm to fork. She teaches our study abroad course on the cuisine and culture of Italy, and loves sharing this opportunity with students and non-students alike.

Professor Lolkus has extensive experience as an educator with involvement in curriculum development, classroom assessment techniques and research on teaching effectiveness. As one of the founding members of the Alliance for Teaching Enrichment and her past role on the advisory board for the Center for Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT), she has been and continues to be actively involved in campus activities and initiatives promoting dynamic teaching and learning.

Awards related to her teaching include Friends of the University Outstanding Teaching Award, Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET) and the College of Health and Human Services Innovations in Teaching Award
