  • Borrowing a laptop:
      • Information Technology Services (Call: 260-481-6030, Email: has a limited number of laptops and desktop systems that may be loaned to students, faculty, and staff who have internet access available at home. The desktop systems do not have wireless capability, so they must be connected directly to your wireless router via a standard Ethernet cable.
      • Additionally, Helmke Library (Call: 260-481-6505, e-mail: ) has a limited number of laptops that may be checked out by students.

  • Internet Access (On Campus):
      • You can work on a university computer in these open access computer labs, as well as in the Math Tutoring Center (KT G19), the Math MALL (KT G38), and the Helmke Library.
      • Students can get free Internet access anywhere on campus during the hours the doors are open using their own personal device.

      • Is the building closed? Students, faculty, and staff may access university Wi-Fi from the first floor of Parking Garage 3 and in the parking lot of the Modular Classroom Building 24/7.
      • This campus map clarifies the coverage areas. You can safely park in these areas and use the university’s wireless network. There is no need to leave your vehicle to access the wireless network.
      • Purdue Fort Wayne students can join the network with SSID “Purdue Fort Wayne” and IU Fort Wayne students can connect with SSID “EDUROAM.”
      • If you experience technical difficulties, please contact the Help Desk at 260-481-6030 or Public restroom facilities are available in the foyer of the Modular Classroom Building. 

  • Internet Access (Off Campus) and Data Plans:
      • Some vendors provide free Wifi, such as those on this list in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
      • You can also use this resource for free Wifi Hotspots in Indiana. Click on your city name to find your location.
      • Internet Essentials from Comcast is offering new customers two months of free services. Visit or call 855-846-8376 (English) or 855-765-6995 (Spanish) for more information.
      • Free Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots will be available to anyone who needs them, including non-Xfinity internet subscribers. Find a hotspot at
      • T-Mobile is providing unlimited smartphone data to all current subscribers and is increasing the data allowance to students using their digital learning programs.
      • Verizon is temporarily waiving late fees and disconnections and will not terminate service due to economic circumstances to pay bills for 60 days.
  • Classrooms Reserved for Students Attending Synchronous Classes: The rooms on this list are reserved for students who need a quiet place to attend and participate remotely in their synchronous meetings of their courses. BYOD (Bring your own device.)

  • Forgot a face mask? No worries. If you forgot your face mask or the one you have keeps slipping off your face, you can get a disposable one at these locations:
