About Us

Welcome to the Center for Women and Returning Adults!

The Center for Women and Returning Adults supports and advocates for all Purdue Fort Wayne students who face personal or academic challenges. We also organize programs that address the specific needs of non-traditional and First Generation College students.

Advice: on admissions, the financial aid process, and the academic landscape.

Referrals to Service: including academic assistance personal counseling, career counseling, health care, social welfare programs and child care.

Seminars/Panel Discussions of interest to non-traditional students.

Virtual Scholarship Drawer for women and non-traditional adult students and First Generation Students.

Social Welfare Database for students struggling with economic problems

Study Lounge Providing students study space with refreshments and study supplies if needed.

Students with Families program is free, sponsored by a grant from the Indiana-Purdue Student Government Association, and open to all students and their immediate families. Our goal is to help students who have children become more involved in the life of the campus, and enjoy campus events with their children. Our regular Students with Families events begin with a kid-appealing dinner followed by special programs for young children and programs for parents that are geared to the needs and interests of non-traditional students.

Sexual Assault Prevention Program Provides education and advocacy programs to prevent sexual assault.

Flying Start is a peer support center for Non-Traditional students at Purdue University in Fort Wayne. These information tables serve as one on one communication to students who are interested in or are in need of on or off campus resources that will allow them to have support and adequate resources in taking steps towards graduation.
