Scenario Planning Virtual Town Hall Set for Tomorrow
Faculty and staff are invited to attend Purdue Fort Wayne’s virtual Scenario Planning Town Hall to learn about the university’s planning efforts for the 2020–21 academic year on Wednesday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to noon. Jeff Malanson, director of strategic planning and implementation, will provide a brief overview of the process and answer questions from faculty and staff.
Mastodon Alumni Scholarships: Continuing the Mastodon Legacy
Mastodon alumni use the skills and expertise gained during their time as students on the Fort Wayne campus every day to improve not only their own quality of life but also the communities in which they live and work.
Several scholarships are offered annually to both full-time and part-time students, who must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a new or currently enrolled full-time or part-time student at Purdue Fort Wayne.
- Be in good standing according to university guidelines.
- Be a child, stepchild, or spouse of an IPFW or Purdue Fort Wayne graduate.
- Submit a 500-word, double-spaced essay answering, “How will you use your Purdue Fort Wayne education to impact your community?” The response should include information on school and community involvement and activities. Additionally, you may support your application with up to two letters of reference.

Send Your Congratulations to the Class of 2020
Do you have words of encouragement or well-wishes for Purdue Fort Wayne’s Class of 2020? Members of the #MastodonAlumniCommunity, faculty, and staff are encouraged to send a 20-second video clip to our 2020 graduates to recognize their hard work and commendable achievement.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 8.
Take a Yoga Break
Take a break from working at your computer and do yoga in your own home. Join Lindsay Bloom, employee health coach, as she leads a live, virtual yoga class on WebEx every Wednesday at noon, through July 1. Learn more and join the class.
SIS Business Analyst Receives Administrative Excellence Award
Congratulations to Christa Van De Weg, the recipient of this year’s Administrative Excellence Award. This award honors an administrative staff member for their excellence in job performance, excellence in service, and/or outstanding contribution to the university. Van De Weg is a business analyst for Student Information Support Services.
Van De Weg’s name will be added to the list of previous award winners on the plaque displayed in the Kettler Hall faculty and staff lounge. Since this year’s Employee Recognition Reception was canceled, Van De Weg will be honored at a future event.
