Comprising almost 700 beautiful acres on the banks of the St. Joseph River, the university conveys a significant presence in the region and boasts a modern campus that includes well-equipped classrooms, impressive research labs, first-rate student apartments, popular restaurants and retail, and inviting gathering spaces. The campus serves as the epicenter of culture and entertainment for the region and presents hundreds of lectures, musical performances, theatrical productions, art exhibitions, and sporting events annually.
With more than 10,139 degree-seeking students and 303 full-time faculty members, Purdue Fort Wayne is perfectly sized to offer small classes and individualized attention, yet large enough to have all of the attributes of a major research university. Students come from all over the country—and increasingly from all over the world—to choose majors in the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science; the College of Visual and Performing Arts; the College of Professional Studies; the Richard T. Doermer School of Business; the School of Music; the School of Education; and the School of Polytechnic. The university is home to 14 Centers of Excellence, including the Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics, the Community Research Institute, and the Environmental Resources Center.contemporary on-campus apartments, engage in 120 student organizations and clubs and volunteer in a variety of meaningful community initiatives and service projects. Students have the opportunity to participate in hundreds of internships that help them connect directly with area employers, gain essential experience, and build impressive résumés. The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons athletics program helps fuel campus spirit, engagement, and pride through 14 NCAA Division I sports. Student-athletes represent the university as they compete on men’s and women’s teams that include basketball, volleyball, soccer, and golf.
